Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Portfolio Lead to manage and develop a high-performing portfolio accounting team within our growing residential property management business.
This is a leadership-focused role responsible for overseeing a team of 6–7 Portfolio Accountants ranging from Portfolio Accountant to Senior Portfolio Accountant level. You will provide day-to-day guidance, technical support, performance management and mentoring, while ensuring exceptional service delivery across a varied residential portfolio.
The role is home-based, offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
This role requires a strong background in service charge accounting combined with proven people management experience.
You will be expected to lead confidently, manage workloads effectively and support your team in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong client service and continuous operational improvement.
You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, coaching individuals at different levels of experience and maintaining high standards across all aspects of portfolio accounting.

How You’ll Spend Most Of Your Time
Most weeks, you’ll be:
- Managing and supporting a team of 6–7 Portfolio Accountants
- Conducting regular 1-1s, performance reviews and coaching sessions
- Reviewing service charge accounts, budgets and financial reporting
- Supporting complex developments and escalated financial queries
- Assisting with workload planning and team development
- Working closely with Property Managers, clients and senior stakeholders
- Monitoring team performance and ensuring service standards are maintained
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training within the team
Who This Role Is For
This role suits someone who:
- Has strong service charge accounting experience within residential property management
- Has previous experience managing or mentoring finance teams
- Is confident leading conversations with internal and external stakeholders
- Can balance technical accuracy with people leadership
- Enjoys developing and supporting high-performing teams
- Takes ownership and leads by example
Experience That Helps
- Strong service charge accounting knowledge
- Previous line management or supervisory experience
- Residential property management experience
- Experience managing large or complex residential developments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent Excel and financial reporting skills
- Knowledge of property management systems such as Propman
- Accounting qualification or qualified by experience advantageous
