Senior Portfolio Manager/ multi-asset class & Global Macro Investment Strategies Investment Professional
Senior Portfolio Manager – Multi-Asset Class & Global Macro Investment Strategies
About the Role
A small, Mayfair-based investment boutique specialising in multi-asset investment strategies across Global Macro Investment Strategies, this firm uses a research-driven, conviction-led approach grounded in macroeconomic insight, disciplined risk management, and operational excellence.
The firm is expanding its investment team in London to welcome an experienced senior Portfolio Manager. The role offers significant responsibility across portfolio construction, active trading, risk management, operational oversight, and strategic development.
The ideal candidate will blend strong market judgement with technical expertise, proven ability to identify and resolve trading/operational issues in a dynamic environment. Collaboration is core to the firm’s culture—this role thrives on shared ideas, collective success, and teamwork over individual performance.
Note: This position is London-based, but relocation flexibility may extend to the US or Dubai at a future stage. The role operates a main 5-day-per-week office presence with hybrid working flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Investment & Portfolio Management
- Generate high-conviction, multi-asset class strategies (Cash Equities, Fixed Income, Forex, derivatives, macro instruments).
- Oversee day-to-day trading activity, ensuring alignment with investment mandates, execution accuracy, and timeliness.
- Monitor global markets, macroeconomic trends, and geopolitical risks to identify opportunities and mitigate threats.
- Proactively resolve trade-related issues (pricing discrepancies, allocation errors, settlement issues).
- Contribute to portfolio construction, rebalancing, and risk-adjusted return optimisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
