Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Colleague to join our department. The role will largely be based in Cardiology outpatients, seeing new patients referred to our service. The role will largely be based around general cardiology, with some interest in heart failure, as well as cardiac imaging list opportunities.

Outpatient Role

The role will require regular out-patient clinic time every week with the responsibilities of running four new patient general cardiology clinics as well as one heart failure clinic per week. Whilst there will be a degree of autonomy, the role will be supported by consultant colleagues where required.

The outpatient responsibility will be flexible, with the opportunity to organise clinic time around other educational opportunities if needed.

All paperwork generated from the clinic will be the responsibility of the clinician, with administration time provided for reporting investigation results and organising follow-up.

Imaging Training

There will be an opportunity for regular cardiac imaging training, including stress echocardiogram and transoesophageal echocardiography lists.

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • Higher professional training in Cardiology
  • The post holder should hold the MRCP (UK) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable: an appropriate higher Degree, e.g. an MD, PhD or equivalent.
