Senior Power BI Developer

Central London (Hybrid Working)
Salary up to £60,000 + Private Medical

Method Resourcing are working with an innovative and fast-growing technology company that is transforming the way organisations use data to drive strategic decision-making. As they continue to scale, they're looking to hire an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to take ownership of their enterprise reporting environment and play a key role in shaping their business intelligence capability.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Power BI professional who enjoys working across the full BI lifecycle, from data modelling and dashboard development through to governance, optimisation, and stakeholder engagement. You'll work closely with Data Engineering teams and business leaders to deliver trusted, scalable, and high-performing reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop the organisation's Power BI reporting estate, including dashboards, reports, and semantic models
  • Design and maintain scalable data models using dimensional modelling and star schema best practices
  • Develop advanced DAX calculations and Power Query transformations
  • Optimise report and dataset performance, ensuring reliability and scalability
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams to support data warehousing and analytics architecture initiatives
  • Implement and maintain Power BI governance, security, and reporting standards
  • Engage with stakeholders across multiple business functions to gather requirements and define KPIs
  • Deliver actionable insights through intuitive and visually compelling dashboards
  • Perform data validation and quality assurance using SQL and other analytical tools
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes and BI best practices

Candidate Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Power BI-focused roles
  • Strong commercial experience designing and delivering Power BI solutions in production environments
  • Advanced Power BI expertise, including semantic modelling, DAX, Power Query, and performance optimisation
  • Excellent data modelling skills with experience of star schema and dimensional modelling techniques
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex query writing, data validation, and performance tuning
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and modern BI architectures
  • Demonstrable experience engaging with business stakeholders and translating requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of BI governance, security, and best practice reporting standards
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud data platforms would be beneficial
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse architectures, or modern analytics platforms would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Python or R for automation and analytics is a bonus
