Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.

Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and General Aviation.

As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high-integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

About the Role

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design and develop power electronics for electric propulsion systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with stringent aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & development of high-voltage (>400V to 1kV) three-phase inverter systems for electric propulsion
  • Undertake analysis of three-phase inverters, including:
    • Dynamic switching characteristics
    • Efficiency optimisation
    • Thermal performance
  • Design differential and common-mode filters for high-voltage applications
  • Design failure detection and protection systems for high-voltage wide-bandgap devices
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of electronics design, including:
    • Analysis, schematic capture
    • PCB layout, component selection
    • Design verification
  • Conduct formal design reviews, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and laboratory validation of power electronic systems
  • Lead root-cause investigations of failures and define corrective actions, coordinating cross-functional teams and applying structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Deliver technical reports and design documentation to support certification activities and regulatory approval
  • Ensure adherence to Evolito’s internal standards as well as applicable aviation industry regulations
  • Contribute to the advancement of departmental technologies, capabilities, facilities, and processes
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers within the team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
