Senior Power Systems Engineer – Grid Connections

📍 Remote / Hybrid (based in the UK with travel to UK offices)

Clear Wave Search is partnering with a leading Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) and specialist grid consultancy to appoint a Senior Power Systems Engineer with strong, practical experience in power system studies and grid connection analysis across the GB electricity network.

Our client designs, owns and operates HV and EHV network assets across Great Britain, supporting developers, generators and large energy users through the full grid connection lifecycle.

With continued growth across their grid and private networks businesses, they’re expanding their technical team and seeking an engineer with solid studies capability who can support connection feasibility, network modelling and customer projects.

If you’ve spent the last few years working on load flow, fault level, thermal ratings, contingency analysis or connection studies, this role is directly aligned to your experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
