Senior Proprietary Power Trader (European Markets)
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a highly successful, privately owned proprietary trading and technology firm operating across global energy markets.
The business combines deep market expertise with cutting-edge technology, creating an entrepreneurial environment where traders are empowered to identify opportunities, develop new strategies and have genuine ownership over their trading activities. With a flat organisational structure and significant investment in data, technology and quantitative research, the company has become a major participant across multiple energy markets.
Alongside an established global derivatives business, the firm has built a rapidly expanding European power and gas trading division, supported by a market-leading data platform and proprietary algorithmic trading infrastructure. This creates an exceptional environment for discretionary traders who want access to first-class analytics while retaining the freedom to develop and execute their own trading strategies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
