I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We’re looking for a senior PR manager to lead this work. This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to manage media lists and monitor coverage. It’s for someone who loves uncovering stories, challenging clients to think bigger, building trusted relationships with journalists, and creating campaigns that people genuinely want to talk about. - Leading PR strategy for a diverse portfolio of clients and advising on newsworthy narratives with confidence
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with journalists, editors, broadcasters, influencers, and industry commentators
- Creating thought-leadership content that positions our clients as authoritative voices in their sectors, building visibility and trust in a landscape where AI-powered search and evolving media habits are changing how information is discovered
- Monitoring industry trends, the news agenda, and the changing media landscape to follow through opportunities for reactive commentary
- Working with our creative, digital, and content teams to deliver integrated campaigns with impact
