About the Role

You will play a crucial role in managing and delivering effective, efficient services for children, young people, and their families.

As a Senior Practitioner, your responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional supervision while adhering to Social Work England’s code of practice
  • Supporting team development and ensuring high standards of practice
  • Assessing and managing risk in complex and urgent situations
  • Offering professional advice to other agencies and professionals
  • Supervising and mentoring other team members
  • Maintaining robust record-keeping standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional supervision within the team
  • Develop assessment framework and interventions to support children and families
  • Lead case reviews and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Deliver consultation and guidance to internal and external professionals
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
  • Support training and skill development for team members

Experience & Qualifications Required

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship offered for this role).

You must be a qualified and experienced Social Worker with:

  • A current registration with Social Work England
  • Deep knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • A proven ability to work under pressure and make sound, evidence-based decisions
  • Experience with assessment methods, care management, and child care/protection casework
  • Strong relationship-building skills with children, young people, and families
