Position: Senior Practitioner
Location: Fairways Court, Bournemouth
Hours: 37.5 contracted hours per week (Monday to Sunday – includes on-shift, office hours, days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins)
Salary: £29,769.39 per annum (£15.23 per hour)

About The Role
As a senior Practitioner at Advance, you’ll work closely with your Support Manager to deliver excellence in customer support in Bournemouth’s community. Your mission:
- Lead, develop, and evaluate support practices aligned with Advance’s policies, best practice, contractual, and regulatory standards.
- Champion a person-centred approach, empowering customers to build their confidence, skills, and independence in their daily lives—both at home and in the local community.
Key Responsibilities:

Line management and team leadership:
- Oversee support workers and foster a culture of reflective practice.
- Coach and lead by example, particularly regarding behaviours that challenge.
- Foster collaboration across peer groups, multi-disciplinary teams, and specialist health teams.

Support planning and collaboration:
- Review and update support plans, documentation, and records, ensuring up-to-date and effective service delivery.
- Partner with the Operations Manager, Support Manager, and Support Workers to co-design solutions for communication, decision-making, and lifestyle choices.

Training and development:
- Plan and facilitate the training, coaching, and professional development of staff, with a focus on mental health awareness and person-centred practices.
- Organise community of practice groups, training events, and workshops.

Safeguarding and compliance:
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of customers, team members, and communities.
- Attend relevant meetings to address customer transitions, progress reviews, and future planning.

About The Candidate
Passion over experience: Advance values your commitment to enhancing the lives of vulnerable individuals. Experience working with learning disabilities or mental health support is essential, but training and development will be provided for the right candidates. Key qualities include:
- Flexibility, reliability, and initiative—adapting to the dynamic nature of care work.
- Person-centred philosophy: Empowering customers to pursue lifestyles aligned with their goals.
- Education and support: Willingness to learn new skills and embrace professional growth.
- Technical and relational abilities:
- Basic IT knowledge and proficiency in maintaining effective support records.
- Outstanding communication skills to bridge gaps between customers, teams, and stakeholders.
- Autonomy and teamwork: Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
A driving license and personal vehicle are desirable but not mandatory.
