BCHA Opportunity in Bournemouth Homeless Service

BCHA has an opportunity in our flagship adult homeless service in Bournemouth; In this role you will lead an established team, develop customer-led support using person-centred and psychologically informed approaches by providing information, advice and support for adults who are or at risk of homelessness.

The team consistently use a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to reach the customer in a way that facilitates a better understanding of the person and how to most effectively support them.

You will guide the team to build trusting relationships with customers who find themselves in a vulnerable situation to manage risk, engage in recovery and work towards a sustainable pathway for the future.

Position:

BCHA has an exciting opportunity to join our Homelessness Accommodation Service in Bournemouth, working across two supported accommodation sites. In this rewarding role, you will provide customer-led support using person-centred and psychologically informed approaches, offering information, advice and practical support to adults who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

Requirements:

  • Prioritise the immediate safety needs of the customers and manage risk;
  • Enable customers to access funds and specific support services;
  • Engage customers in their own recovery and support planning;
  • Provide intensive personalised support and effective case management;
  • Support access to services including legal, mental health, sexual, domestic, drug & alcohol abuse;
  • Build professional working relationships - internally & externally;
  • Be a resilient, confident, calm, practical & pragmatic person;
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, assertive, empathic and non-judgemental;
  • Have good listening, questioning and written skills
