Job Title: Senior Pricing Engineer
Location: Bexhill/Leicester/London – Hybrid

Role Overview
Underwriting Delivery and Change are looking for a Senior Pricing Engineer who will not only contribute through their technical expertise but also play a crucial role in team development and strategic planning for rating change deliveries. The ideal candidate will be a leader, a communicator, and an innovator, committed to driving the team and the company’s pricing capabilities forward.
Role Purpose
As a Senior Developer, the primary focus is managing business as usual and strategic pricing implementation projects. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging advanced Python skills for complex implementations and projects. Their role involves gathering requirements, designing optimized solutions, and developing and maintaining pricing algorithms. Alongside, you will guide and mentor pricing engineers, emphasising the need for curiosity and innovation to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand the pricing needs of the business
- Manage strategic pricing implementation and projects to support rating engine development.
- Design and propose optimized solutions for pricing implementations to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain pricing algorithms using advanced coding skills in Python to meet the strategic goals of the company and manage complex implementations.
- Manage and conduct thorough testing of pricing changes before deployment, identifying errors, and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of implementation.
- Manage pre-release activities, including code reviews, testing and recast analysis to ensure accurate implementation of pricing changes.
- Provide stakeholders with data-driven insights to facilitate better decision-making, refine implementation, and assist with release approval.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for implementations, strategies, and data pipelines while ensuring their security.
- Prepare and deliver progress updates on implementations and propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and pace.
- Guide and mentor pricing engineers, offering expertise in Python coding, SQL database management, and providing technical support and training on pricing implementation and coding best practices.
- Actively engage in recruiting top talent, providing support and guidance, and foster an environment where team members flourish and achieve their maximum potential.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for developing and testing methodologies.
- Experience with Polaris PW rating engine tools and data visualization techniques.
- Experience working in an Agile environment utilising methodologies such as; Scrum/Kanban/BDD/TDD/Extreme Programming
- Experience in managing complex projects and managing team
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong track record of problem-solving and strategic thinking.
- Proven ability to influence team dynamics and drive skill development
