Principal Microsoft Consultant - IT Solutions Provider - Hampshire/Hybrid - to £90,000 - DOE

The Principal Microsoft Consultant is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, leading, and delivering enterprise Microsoft solutions across Microsoft 365, Azure, Security, Identity, and Modern Workplace technologies. The role combines technical architecture, consulting, stakeholder management, pre-sales, and leadership to help clients achieve their digital transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the architecture and delivery of enterprise Microsoft solutions.
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient Microsoft cloud environments.
  • Provide technical governance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Ensure solutions follow Microsoft best practices and security standards.

Client Engagement

  • Engage with senior stakeholders to understand business objectives.
  • Conduct workshops, discovery sessions, and technical assessments.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers.

Pre-Sales

  • Support bids, proposals, and Statements of Work.
  • Lead customer presentations and solution demonstrations.
  • Estimate project effort and technical risks.
  • Provide technical leadership during sales engagements.

Delivery Leadership

  • Lead complex enterprise transformation projects.
  • Manage technical teams across multiple workstreams.
  • Review solution quality and project deliverables.
  • Ensure projects meet time, budget, and quality expectations.

Mentoring

  • Mentor consultants, architects, and engineers.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
  • Support recruitment and capability development.
  • Define technical standards and best practices.

Experience Essential

  • 10+ years of Microsoft infrastructure or cloud consulting experience.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise Microsoft cloud solutions.
  • Strong background in Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Experience leading technical teams and customer engagements.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services.
  • Experience supporting pre-sales and solution design.
