The future of UK water security is being shaped right now, and you can be at the forefront. AMP8 delivery is underway, and Stantec is successfully delivering on major framework commitments, including key roles in the north of England in Yorkshire Water’s Strategic Planning Partnership, Northumbrian Water’s Strategic Technical Partnership, and United Utilities’ Design Development Partnership.
We are growing our Dams and Reservoirs team to meet this demand. This isn't just about planning—it's about execution and impact. Join us in Leeds or Newcastle to manage and execute a wealth of major projects, from large-scale reservoir maintenance and upgrade projects to new build schemes like Cheddar 2 and Coire Glas providing resilience for communities across the UK.
The Opportunity: Specialist Dams Engineer
We are seeking a proactive, Senior to Principal grade Dams Engineer, ready for the responsibility of complex technical delivery. Your role will involve providing critical technical solutions and advice, ensuring our dams and reservoirs projects meet stringent cost, schedule, and quality standards.
This is a senior-level role that offers significant scope for technical leadership and career advancement within a global firm.
We Require Significant Civil Engineering Experience, Specifically Applied To
Dam engineering and existing reservoir maintenance. Expertise in one or more of the following specialist areas: hydrology, hydraulics, geotechnics, structures, seepage in the context of dam design.

About You
You are a degree-qualified Engineer who has achieved, or is actively working towards, Chartered status (e.g., ICE). You possess solid, hands-on experience in dam design and operation, with experience of mentoring junior engineers.
While specialist accreditation, such as Supervising Engineer, is highly valued, we are committed to providing the resources and support you need to achieve your professional development goals in this field. If you thrive on complex engineering challenges and embody an ethos of client focus, we want to hear from you.
