About the Role
At Turner & Townsend, we lead the journey to Net Zero and aim to build a better industry through three core values: Green, Productive, and Inclusive. Our Sustainable Cities and Workplaces team is expanding to meet rising demand from private and public sector organisations.
We seek an experienced Senior or Principal Sustainability Consultant to expand and strengthen our UK building certification team.
Join us to:
- Lead strategic sustainability consulting work.
- Shape global Net Zero frameworks.
- Help transform projects into high-impact outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
As our Senior/Principal Sustainability Consultant, you will:
- Lead and manage degrees of freedom in building certification projects and competitive bids.
- Provide expert technical guidance on BREEAM, Well, and other certification schemes.
- Support clients in setting and achieving decarbonisation targets.
- Deliver strategic sustainability advice through project design stages.
- Mentor junior consultants and collaborate with senior team members.
- Oversee internal quality assurance procedures.
- Present technical findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Recommend low-carbon, climate-resilient design measures.

Additionally, you’ll:
- Develop tailored sustainability strategies.
- Prepare and lead tenders and proposals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Grow and enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications & Skills
Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of building design, construction, and material performance.
- Leadership and team development experience.
- Deep knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, and environmental standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in engineering, architecture, or related discipline.
- Licensed BREEAM Assessor.
- 5+ years’ experience in sustainability consulting within the built environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in carbon management, ESG reporting, and Net Zero strategies.
- Proven experience in ** energía efficiency projects** and performance development planning.
Additional Attributes
- Commercial awareness (business development, proposal-writing).
- Proactive problem-solving and high analytical skills.
- Experience in data-driven sustainability analysis.
