Senior Process Analyst
Location: Durrington or Falmer (with travel across Southern Water sites)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours)
Hybrid: Minimum 2 days onsite
Salary: £66,700 – £81,200
Role Overview
We’re growing our Process & Intelligent Automation team and are looking for an experienced Senior Process Analyst to help drive process excellence across Southern Water. In this role, you’ll lead the discovery, analysis, optimisation, and governance of end-to-end business processes across the organisation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, operational teams, the Process Architect, and the Automation Centre of Excellence, you’ll identify opportunities to improve performance, standardise ways of working, and enable digital and automation solutions.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll take ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives, providing leadership, coaching, and quality assurance to Process Analysts while helping to shape enterprise-wide process standards and continuous improvement practices. Your work will play a key role in supporting Southern Water’s operational, regulatory, and transformation objectives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in process analysis, business analysis, or continuous improvement roles
- Strong experience in process mapping and optimisation using BPMN 2.0
- Experience leading complex process discovery, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Ability to assess process performance, identify root causes, risks, and optimisation opportunities
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting process data, KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance measures
- Experience producing and assuring high-quality process documentation, including process maps, SIPOCs, value streams, RACIs, and SOPs
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing oversight to analysts or improvement teams
- Ability to identify and evaluate automation, digitisation, AI, and workflow opportunities
- Experience with process mapping tools (ARIS, Signavio, Miro/Mural, Process Advisor)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement with senior leaders
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- BCS or IIBA Business Analysis qualifications
- Experience leading or supervising small analytical teams
- Exposure to automation technologies such as Power Automate, RPA, Alteryx, ServiceNow RPA, or similar platforms
- Understanding of regulated environments and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of operational systems such as Maximo, Ellipse, GIS/ArcGIS, Workday, ServiceNow, SAP BO, or Prism
- Interest in process excellence, digital transformation, automation, and organisational change
