About The Energy Business Unit
The Energy unit delivers global engineering and project management services across multiple sectors including:
- Hydropower

Overview Of The Role

Our fast-growing Nuclear: Defence and Civil division is seeking a Senior Process Engineer—a role that balances technical rigour, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and direct client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our front-end engineering designs, covering feasibility to detailed design phases.
- Deliver client solutions by aligning technical and commercial needs across nuclear decommissioning, defence, and energy/infrastructure projects.
- Produce design documentation and technical deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Conduct site visits and actively work to expand client relationships.
- Attract new opportunities by advocating for Mott MacDonald’s tailored solutions.
Candidate Specification
Essential
- Chartered status (preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered).
- Accreditation with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) or comparable body.
- Technical chemical/process engineering expertise, with a focus on:
- Process design (proven competence)
- Quality assurance (via checklists, surveillance, and reviews)
- Strong communication skills and commercial awareness of FEED (Front-End Engineering & Design) projects.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to evolving project needs, and promote inter-disciplinary collaboration (integrating input from engineers, specialties, facilities, and project teams).
- Proactive approach to solutions development—balancing technical excellence with feasibility for clients.
