Senior Process Engineer
Senior Process Engineer – (Industrial Wastewater Treatment Projects)

Aqua Operations Ltd provides operational and technical consultancy to the domestic wastewater and industrial effluent treatment sectors, delivering:
- Concept Engineering – Rapid assessment of optimum solutions to meet business needs
- Automated Engineering – Innovative technology solutions for automating engineering design and costing
- Detailed Design – Multi-disciplinary design team to meet your project needs
- Commercial Engineering – Optimisation of decisions on need, scope, cost, and risk of investment portfolios
- Process Commissioning – Ensuring plants meet required performance criteria and are optimised for operation
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide practical and technical support for environmental consultancy projects across commercial, industrial, municipal wastewater, and sludge processing.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Operational and Commissioning Support – On-site and desk-based technical process support for operational, commissioning, and process consultancy projects
- Project Management – Overseeing all project aspects, including:
- Development of proposals
- Producing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS)
- Managing resources, time, contractors, client relationships, and financial aspects
- Supporting the QHSE Manager in developing, implementing, and improving standard procedures and quality systems
- Business Development – Growing a network of clients and managing relationships to support business growth strategies

Who We Are Looking For
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
Essential Requirements
- A degree (BSc/BEng) in a relevant field (e.g., environmental engineering, chemistry, microbiology, or related discipline)
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience
- Open to field/office/laboratory-based work, including:
- Collection and analysis of samples
- Data interpretation
- Developing scientific reports
- Presenting findings to clients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with clients
- A dynamic problem-solving approach, with ability to:
- Work outside conventional methods
- Develop bespoke solutions for complex effluent treatment issues
- Willingness to travel across the UK, including potential short-term assignments
- Full clean driving licence with access to a vehicle
- Theoretical knowledge in:
- Water/wastewater chemistry
- Microbiology
- Engineering principles
- Practical experience on industrial/water utility sites
- Project management experience
- Exceptional communication and coordination skills:
- Collaborating with teams internally and reporting to line managers
- Delivering presentations to clients and stakeholders
- Strong awareness of H&S (Health & Safety) requirements, including:
- RAMS knowledge
- Permits and site inductions
- Experience in customer-facing professional roles
