H9 Talent Solutions are partnered with a leading technology supplier who are looking to engage with an experienced Senior Process Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design and delivery of Flue Gas Treatment systems for major industrial, biomass, and Energy-from-Waste (EfW) projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering team, supporting projects from initial concept and tender stage through detailed design, commissioning, and operational support. The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for FGT process engineering, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement in engineering standards and best practices.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the process engineering design of Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) systems for industrial combustion, biomass and Energy-from-Waste facilities.
  • Support engineering activities throughout the full project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, proposals, detailed design, commissioning and operational support.
  • Produce, review and approve:
    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
    • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Process calculations
    • Equipment sizing
    • Technical specifications
    • Equipment datasheets
  • Provide technical support during tendering activities, customer meetings and technical bid evaluations.
  • Work closely with Procurement to review supplier quotations, evaluate technical compliance and approve vendor documentation.
  • Participate in HAZOP studies, design reviews, safety assessments and technical risk evaluations.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, performance testing and plant optimisation.
  • Troubleshoot operational process issues and identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency and emissions performance.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Piping, Boiler, EC&I, Procurement and Project Management teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions.
  • Develop and improve engineering standards, design procedures, calculation tools and technical documentation.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior engineers within the process engineering team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
