What You'll Do...
An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Senior Process Engineer within the Formation/Aging area of our GME function. You will be on the forefront of designing, creating and implementing a brand-new manufacturing facility within an emerging industry. At the scale of this project, you will not only be delivering complex and cutting-edge technologies but also ensuring that this can be implemented successfully in a completely new environment.
Reporting Into The Process Engineering Manager, You Will
- To be the primary subject matter expert for a specific manufacturing process within our Formation and Aging area.
- Develop the manufacturing process, including the design, control strategy and risk mitigation activity for key areas of the end-to-end production process
- Lead the selection, implementation, commissioning and ramp-up of manufacturing equipment and capability
- Work closely with equipment vendors and technical partners to ensure the production process is delivered to target.
- Ongoing ownership of key process control points, using data and analysis to drive continuous improvement to product and process
- Close integration with R&D teams to inform technology roadmap and ensure ongoing alignment with manufacturing capability.

Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The team you'll join...
The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.
What You'll Bring...
- Experience as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer in a highly automated or controlled environment
- Specialism within one or more of the following processes – Baking, Filling, Testing, Formation and Aging, End of Line (EOL) or similar applications.
- Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing)
- Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes and associated challenges or introducing new processes/plant.
- Excellent understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental considerations for process design
- Experience of delivering new manufacturing capability throughout the maturation lifecycle
