Senior Process Engineer - @One Alliance

Senior Process Engineer – Anglian Water @One Alliance

As part of Anglian Water’s @One Alliance, we are on a mission to create a sustainable and resilient water infrastructure future. With a £2.3 billion investment in AMP8, we are revolutionising sustainability, digital transformation, and infrastructure to protect the environment and support growing communities.

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join our innovative team.

You will provide engineering technical direction in designing water treatment and supply schemes, ensuring designs comply with legislation and current standards while supporting collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver best-value solutions that meet regulatory requirements, timelines, and quality benchmarks.

The Senior Process Engineer will play a key mentoring role, coaching junior engineers and reviewing process design outputs to quality-assure adherence to methodologies. Advanced sustainability, low-carbon design principles, and harnessing new digital technologies will be critical components of your work.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with Principal Engineer, Portfolio Design Manager, and Project Design Managers to review project plans and design milestones.
  • Coaching and mentoring less experienced process engineers to develop their skills and ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Ensuring designs align with sustainability goals, including low-carbon principles and natural capital management.
  • Compliance verification—checking designs adhere to standards, regulations, and Anglian Water’s technical guidelines.
  • Micro-checking technical deliverables:
    • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and 3D models for technical accuracy, safety, and quality.
    • Mass balance, process sizing, and hydraulic calculations for correctness and appropriate engineering detail.
    • Process documentation, including Basis of Design, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Philosophies, and Commissioning Strategies.
  • Identifying and registering design alerts to promote lessons learned across the @One alliance.
  • Leveraging technical expertise to contribute effectively to franchise procurement exercises.
  • Supporting technical presentations on lessons learned and innovation within design best practices.
  • Embracing digital innovation to enhance 3D modelling efficiency and clarity.
  • Maintaining portfolio-wide technical awareness and sharing insights across the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
