The role encompasses the full development cycle, across our whole system, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:
- Guide process safety through intelligent, inherently safe system architecture selection
- Ideate novel designs to eliminate or mitigate existing failure modes
- Own critical process safety design aspects, such as relief design and DSEAR compliance
- Lead our system through critical safety reviews, such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and SIF specification
Essential skills:
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in chemical engineering or related field
- Experience designing, building, and operating process plants
- Experience leading full lifecycle process safety
You should be strong across all traditional process engineering activities:
- Ideating novel architectures and system integrations with the Rivan mindset
- Aspen modelling of process units
- Data analysis and system-wide process optimisation
- Detailed process calculations and design
- Defining control architectures
- Component specification and procurement
- Defining and executing the build, deployment, commissioning, and operation of our systems

Specifics:
- £70-100k Salary depending on experience
- Significant share options as part of the early team
- In-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South London – flexibility considered based on personal circumstances
- Extensive relocation support, including £6000 per year extra to live close to our HQ
- Visa sponsorship available
