Senior Process Development Technologist
Walker & Son is seeking an experienced and commercially aware Senior Process Development Technologist to lead the successful delivery of new product launches and product upgrades across multiple retail customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a process professional who enjoys managing projects from concept through to launch while leading a small team and building strong customer relationships. You will play a critical role in ensuring products are scaled up efficiently and launched to specification, quality, food safety, and customer requirements. Working closely with Development, Commercial, Operations, Planning, Engineering and Technical teams, you will drive projects forward while maintaining exceptional technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of product launches and upgrades, ensuring projects are completed to agreed timescales and customer expectations.
- Manage and develop a team of Process Development Technologists, providing coaching, guidance and regular performance reviews.
- Independently manage products from handover through to factory launch, ensuring accurate scale-up and process validation.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing regular updates against key project milestones.
- Ensure all process documentation, food safety requirements and technical standards are maintained and compliant.

- Previous experience within a Process Development Technologist role, with customer-facing responsibility in a food manufacturing environment.
- Degree in a science-based discipline preferred, or Food Safety Level 3 qualification as a minimum.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to work independently while influencing cross-functional teams.
