As part of the Heidelberg Materials International Business Service Centre (BSC), this role focuses on re-engineering processes, simplifying systems, and accelerating digital transformation to deliver synergies across our global operations.


Role Purpose & Responsibilities

Key Purpose

As a Senior Process Transformation Manager, you’ll lead end-to-end process redesign and digital transformation to reshape how the Heidelberg Materials BSC operates. Your role is to:

  • Drive strategy execution to align evolving business needs with future-proof processes.
  • Build and support fast-moving change by fostering innovation and AI adoption (e.g., simplifying digital tools, reducing friction, and scaling sustainable practices).
  • Shape and influence senior stakeholders to secure buy-in for visionary, value-driven transformation.
  • Partner with global teams (including Process Owners and Digital Leads) to embed customer-centric operating models.

You’ll balance processual efficiency (e.g., cross-country workflows) with people-centric coaching—empowering teams to acclimate to agile methodologies and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.


Core Accountabilities

1. Transformation Expertise

  • Subject Matter Expertise:
    • Act as a senior lead on end-to-end process redesign, challenging siloed thinking.
    • Apply journey-based analysis to unify processes around value creation and stakeholder outcomes rather than individual silos.
    • Translate global, local, and technological nuances into practical, scalable solutions—reducing complexity and friction.
    • Deeply understand people-process-data-tech interactions to ensure transformation delivers measurable and lasting impact.

2. End-to-End Process Redesign & Delivery

  • Lead transformational change projects, working alongside:
    • Head of Transformation
    • Global Process Owners
    • Digital & Business Teams
  • Use service-design frameworks to move beyond incremental improvements and reshape core work flows.
    • Adopt AI-accelerated and data-driven interventions where appropriate.
    • Redesign operations for speed, simplicity, and scalability.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical teams to:
    • Define clear value delivery paths.
    • Align new digital tools with business needs.

3. Stakeholder Influence & Change Enablement

  • Senior Partnering:
    • Engage Steering Committees (SteerCo) and cross-border teams to secure commitment to transformation goals.
    • Influence executive leadership where necessary to align initiatives.
  • Change Coaching:
    • Foster agonism and collaboration during complex adjustments.
    • Improve leadership confidence in implementing change.
    • Streamline cross-team coordination to avoid ambiguity.
  • Role Model & Mentor:
    • Coach colleagues on transformation methodologies.
    • Drill down into your specialties (e.g., wayfinding, experimentation) but mirror collaboration at all levels—as much tea party facilitator of ideas as expert.

4. Coaching, Leadership & Capability Growth

  • Culture Champion:
    • Champion evidence-based, innovation-focused ways of working.
    • Normalise healthy pushback from cross-divisional stakeholders.
  • Flexible Leadership:
    • Adapt guidance to portfolio timelines in a dynamic hybrid environment.
  • Team Support:
    • Oversee a team of 5 Transformation Analysts (Grades 10–13) across multi-site projects.
    • Mentor peers on modeling hybrid work, integrating data, and emotionally sustaining teams.

5. Financial & Business Impact

  • Accountability Scope:
    • Steward multi-country, task-etched transformation initiatives across multiple legacy and new systems.
    • KPIs: Monitoring output efficiency, cost savings per project transformation, stakeholder satisfaction metrics.

Requirements

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 10+ years of experience in transformation roles, ideally with expertise in process optimization, digital enablement (SaaS/ERP involvement), or operational excellence.
  • Leadership in design-thinking+quality methodologies (including Lean/Six Sigma, Agile/DevOps, or blueprinting sprints).
  • Hands-on B2B, multi-country process transformation experience.
  • AI/Digital transformation flair—proactively-scripting when change-through-technology makes broader regroups feasible.
  • Demonstrated history of coaching cross-divisional teams toward outright productivity growth via behavioural shifts.
  • Change Agility: Eumerating pilots and cascading visibility within complex operational structures.
  • Soft Power: Choosing collaborations with an inclusive tone. Strengthening arguments as endearing as bulldozing.

  • Background in construction, manufacturing, or logistics—however, a classically business-intentSwitch experience suits also.
