Head of Marketing Procurement

Location: Hybrid – London (2 days per week in the office)

Duration: 10-Months (Maternity Cover)

Working Pattern: 4 days per week (preferred)

Rate: £365.38 per day – PAYE OR £496 per day Umbrella

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Marketing Procurement to join a leading global business operating across events, publishing, digital products, and market intelligence. This role will lead the procurement strategy for marketing services, driving commercial value, supplier performance, and procurement transformation across a complex international organisation.

Working closely with senior marketing, finance, legal, and procurement stakeholders, you'll oversee strategic supplier relationships, lead major commercial negotiations, and deliver significant cost savings through supplier consolidation and sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies across marketing, media, and martech categories.
  • Lead the rollout and management of a Preferred Supplier Programme.
  • Deliver annual cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and commercial negotiations.
  • Analyse spend data to identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
  • Manage contracts with marketing agencies and strategic suppliers, ensuring strong commercial outcomes.
  • Establish and lead a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme for key marketing partners.
  • Lead RFI/RFP processes and vendor selection activities.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, and business stakeholders to negotiate and manage commercial agreements.
  • Oversee contract lifecycles, renewals, governance, and reporting.
  • Drive procurement best practices and influence senior stakeholders across a global matrix organisation.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience within marketing procurement
  • Experience handling large, complex marketing supplier contracts
  • Supplier negotiation expertise
  • Category management experience within marketing and/or martech categories
  • Commercial savings and cost optimization track record
  • Previous line management experience is essential.
  • Must be capable of managing and coaching experienced category managers.
  • Comfortable leading a small specialist team
