Senior Procurement Professional - Logistics

Location: Glasgow - Onsite

Salary: Up to £40,000 dependant on skills and experience

Job Description:

Join a highly collaborative Logistics team at the heart of shipbuilding programme delivery. In this role, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the business and an on-site third-party logistics provider to ensure the efficient, safe, and timely flow of materials, equipment, and systems needed to build world-class ships. You'll drive supplier performance, manage risks and opportunities, support continuous improvement, and use data-driven insights to enhance logistics operations and programme outcomes.

Core duties:

  • Collaborate with the on-site Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider and internal stakeholders to deliver efficient logistics services aligned to business needs
  • Represent Logistics across sites and stakeholder forums, driving action closure and escalating issues where required
  • Handle transactional procurement activities through lifecycle management processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
  • Maintain procurement systems and documentation, ensuring high-quality data and adherence to governance requirements
  • Support performance against quality, cost, and delivery KPIs, contributing to supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems, maintaining accurate data and supporting effective operational processes
  • Self-motivated and organised, able to prioritise workloads and work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Considerable analytical skills, identifying process efficiencies, cost drivers, risks, and opportunities to improve business outcomes
  • Understanding of financial controls, spend management, and governance within procurement and logistics environments

The Logistics Team:

The Logistics team supports shipbuilding programmes by ensuring materials and equipment are available when required. Working across multiple functions, it offers a highly collaborative environment. This role manages the performance, governance, and continuous improvement of a key on-site 3PL partner, ensuring efficient and reliable logistics delivery.
