Our Story

Hello there. We’re Zopa.

We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. Find out more about our fantastic offerings at Zopa.com [http://Zopa.com]!

We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and none of it would be possible without the amazing team here. It’s not just industry awards we’re winning, we’ve also been named in the top three UK’s Most Loved Workplaces.

If you embrace unconventional challenges, are unafraid to think differently and are driven to make an outsized impact, you’ll thrive here at Zopa, so join us, and make it count. Want to see us in action? Follow us on Instagram @zopalife

At Zopa, Analysts are the people who inspire ideas and strategies to drive our business forward and make our products better for customers. Our analysts are a mix of creative problem solvers and number whizzes with a passion for translating numbers into business opportunities and delivering insights to drive decision-making. They're also excellent communicators with the ability to story-tell with data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Our analysts are deeply embedded into the business and will interact with individuals at all levels of the business from Managers to our leadership team.

The role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join our AI tribe. This is a builder-style role focused on improving how transaction data is enriched, structured and trusted - and on raising the bar for how we experiment and learn.

This role is about owning ambiguous problems, designing thoughtful experiments, and pushing systems forward through curiosity and disciplined analysis of the outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the AI Tribe

The AI Tribe sits at the heart of how Zopa turns data into intelligent products. We build and evolve the capabilities that transforms raw transaction data, Open Banking data, and other behavioural signals into reliable, structured intelligence.

A core focus of the tribe is transaction intelligence - how raw transaction data is enriched, categorised, structured, and made usable across the business. This includes merchant and category enrichment, data quality and consistency, and ensuring transaction data integrates cleanly into our broader data models.

As we move toward more AI-first ways of working, the tribe is also rethinking how transaction data should be accessed and used - not just by analysts and product teams, but by AI systems and LLM-powered tools. The work is foundational and long-term in nature: improving systems, shaping strategy, and building capabilities that compound in value over time.

A day in the life...

  • Explore the current enrichment pipeline to understand how it works and where it fails
  • Form hypotheses about where accuracy is breaking down (e.g. merchant ambiguity, edge cases, new patterns)
  • Write code (typically SQL and/or Python) to analyse performance, quantify what's working, and identify systematic gaps
  • Build quick prototypes or enrichment experiments to test alternative approaches
  • Run structured evaluations, interpret results carefully, and communicate trade-offs clearly
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to embed improvements into long-term system design
  • Use AI and LLM tools pragmatically - for exploration, pattern detection, prototyping logic and accelerating experimentation
  • Continuously look for deeper patterns and structural improvements rather than settling for surface-level fixes

About you...

  • You're naturally curious. When you see messy or imperfect data, you want to understand why. You’re also curious about modern AI and LLM tools and have experimented with using building things with them, at work or as personal projects
  • Comfortable being given a broad problem and figuring out how to structure it
  • You enjoy forming hypotheses, writing code to test them, and interrogating results deeply
  • Strong SQL skills and ideally experience using Python for exploratory analysis or prototyping
  • You’ve worked in a data-led, fast-paced environment (e.g. fintech, banking, start-up, consulting)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and can explain complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You’re collaborative but independent — you don’t wait to be told the next step
