Senior Product Designer (Design Systems | Visual Design | Product) - Permanent

Manchester (Hybrid - 3 onsite) | Up to £65,000 | Bonus | Private Healthcare

Most Product Design roles ask you to improve an existing product.

This one gives you the opportunity to shape how an entire business designs products. I'm working with a product-led organisation that's investing heavily in its Product, UX and Engineering capability.

Over the last 12 months they've built a strong UX function, with dedicated UX Designers leading research, discovery and validation.

Now they're looking for someone to become the person who brings those ideas to life through exceptional product design.

This isn't a management role, and it isn't a role where you'll spend your days in meetings.

They're looking for a genuinely hands-on Senior Product Designer who wants to own the design system, raise the standard of visual design across the business and mentor other designers while continuing to do what they enjoy most - designing great products.

If you've ever wanted the opportunity to leave your mark on a product organisation, this is exactly that.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll be responsible for shaping the design language used across products supporting more than 2.8 million members, making sure every experience is accessible, consistent and beautifully executed.

You'll own and evolve the design system rather than inherit someone else's.

You'll be joining during a major period of change, with a complete digital rebrand underway and new mobile products being introduced.

The UX team already has dedicated designers focused on research and discovery, allowing you to concentrate on transforming validated ideas into polished, intuitive product experiences.

You'll play an important role in mentoring other UX Designers through design reviews, coaching and sharing best practice, whilst working closely with Product Managers and Engineers to influence how products are built.

You'll probably enjoy this role if...

  • You care as much about how a product feels as what it does.
  • You enjoy building scalable design systems rather than designing one-off screens.
  • You're the person teammates naturally come to for design advice and feedback.
  • You like working closely with engineers and care about how designs are implemented.
  • You still enjoy being hands-on and don't want to move into full-time management.
  • You've built consumer-facing digital products where usability, engagement and conversion really matter.

This isn't just another Senior Product Designer role.

It's an opportunity to become the person who sets the standard for design across a growing organisation, while remaining close to the work. You'll influence products used by millions of people, help shape the future of the design function and work alongside a genuinely collaborative Product and Engineering team.

If you're happy where you are but feel ready for more ownership, greater influence and the chance to build something you'll be proud of, I'd love to have a confidential chat.
