About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Design Systems Engineer to help shape and scale a modern component library used across multiple digital products and brands. This role sits at the intersection of design and engineering, combining hands-on frontend development with design system strategy, accessibility, and component governance.
You will play a key role in designing, building, documenting, and maintaining production-ready UI components that enable teams to deliver consistent, accessible, and scalable user experiences. Working closely with product designers, engineers, and design system stakeholders, you'll help drive component adoption and establish best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop production-ready UI components to the highest standards of quality, accessibility, and scalability.
- Apply existing design tokens, foundational patterns, and multi-brand design principles across component development.
- Identify gaps within the component ecosystem and propose solutions to address evolving product needs.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure components are technically robust, responsive, and accessible by default.
- Collaborate with product designers to prioritize component requirements and user interface enhancements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including usage guidelines, accessibility considerations, best practices, and examples.
- Leverage AI-assisted design and development tools where appropriate to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Participate in design system governance activities, representing product requirements and contributing to component reviews.
- Actively contribute to design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback and promoting best practices.
- Support the ongoing evolution of the design system through continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
