The Role: Senior Product Designer
This is a hands-on individual contributor (IC) role, where you’ll lead product design from difficult challenges and early-stage ideation to launch day within a cross-functional team. You’ll be responsible for shaping experiences that progress towards our mission while collaborating with other designers to establish and refine design systems, processes, and principles.
What You’ll Do
-
Solve user problems holistically – From conducting research to refining interactions—finally implementing your polished flows and features alongside engineers.
-
Build design foundations – Work with designers to craft Plum’s design process, tooling, and core design principles, ensuring consistency and scalability.
-
Iterate with deep thinking – Prototype ideas early, validate their effectiveness, and carefully flesh out the interactions and finer details needed for real-world success.
-
Loop back on design with data – Use research and testing to validate your work, build deeper empathy for users, and continuously refine the product.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
