About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll help shape the future of Tesco's retail media proposition by designing products and services that connect advertiser demand with available media inventory in ways that create value for both brands and shoppers. You'll work at the intersection of customer experience, commercial strategy, and product innovation, balancing shopper missions and expectations with advertiser needs and business objectives. Through research, data, and experimentation, you'll uncover opportunities to create intuitive experiences that help teams make better decisions, maximise the value of Tesco's media estate, and maintain a trusted, relevant experience for customers.

You'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Data & Analytics teams, Commercial stakeholders, and Media specialists to turn complex problems into simple, scalable solutions. You'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing stakeholders, and using evidence to drive decisions that deliver measurable impact for users and the business.

A strong appetite for human-centred design, systems thinking, and data-informed decision-making is essential. You'll use and contribute to our digital design system to create accessible, consistent, and scalable experiences that help Tesco Media continue to grow and innovate.

You will be responsible for

  • Providing design leadership within product delivery teams, working closely with Product Managers, UX Researchers, Content Writers, Engineers, and Data Scientists.
  • Leading the creation of user-centric experiences that meet high-quality, industry-leading standards.
  • Owning the end-to-end design process, from understanding the problem space and prioritising opportunities to exploring potential solutions, prototyping, and validating with users.
  • Partnering with Product Managers to understand and define user problems, translate requirements into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes, and develop testable hypotheses that drive intuitive, user-centred experiences and measurable improvements to the user experience.
  • Assisting the Product Design Manager in managing design work within a product area, ensuring clear and effective communication with other teams.
  • Using quantitative data and partnering with the Analytics team to inform design decisions.
  • Validating designs with end users using established research best practices and methodologies.
  • Presenting designs and validated findings to team members and stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Championing systematisation and reusability in design, leading the componentisation of experiences, and contributing design decisions back to the design system.
  • Promoting human-centred design across stakeholder groups and the wider business, helping other disciplines understand the value that design brings to products.
  • Leading design talks and process improvement workshops in partnership with the Product Design Manager or User Research Manager.
  • Applying attention to both detailed design execution and broader business outcomes by establishing service KPIs to ensure product design positively impacts customer satisfaction, financial performance, and growth.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and incorporating innovative ideas into design practices.
  • Continuously refining skills, learning new techniques, and growing as a designer.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
