Senior Product Development Manager – LEON Grocery (FTC, 12 months)
At LEON, we believe food should taste good and do you good. Since opening our first restaurant, we’ve been on a mission to make it easier for everyone to eat well and live well, whether that’s in one of our restaurants or from a supermarket shelf.
As our Grocery business continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced, creative and commercially minded Senior Product Development Manager to help shape the next generation of LEON products. From big innovation ideas to perfecting existing favourites, you’ll play a key role in bringing delicious, distinctive and market-leading products to life.
Working closely with suppliers, retailers and cross-functional teams, you’ll own the product journey from concept through to launch, ensuring every product delivers against our brand promise, delights consumers and meets the highest technical and quality standards.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves food, thrives on turning ideas into reality and gets excited by spotting the next big trend before everyone else.
Summary of the Role
You will be responsible for growing the LEON Grocery pipeline, managing all new product development and existing product development across multiple categories
- Act as launch manager and 'Guardian' of the LEON brand values, following the gated process
- Create and manage the LEON Grocery NPD and EPD briefs across our supply base
- Work directly with our suppliers to create and deliver the best LEON grocery products, which embody our LEON mission, using experience and skill in recipe development, innovation, and trend interpretation
- Create and brief design to our in-house designers, managing the creative design process from concept to launch
- Work in conjunction with the LEON Technical Manager to oversee product quality of both NPD products and the current product portfolio
- Work closely with the Marketing team, organising and project managing product photoshoots with recipe creation using our Grocery products
- Work with sales and marketing to feed into new retailer meetings with appropriate information and samples. Where required, attend meetings as the 'LEON product specialist' to support
- Take ownership of technical compliance for your portfolio, including pack copy, product specifications, QAS & nutritional information, ensuring all products meet UK food legislation requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
