Senior Product Engineer

Product Engineer (AI Infrastructure Systems)

Most "AI engineering" jobs today are still about wrapping software around AI—but this role is different. It’s about building the systems that AI itself runs on.

About the Role

This opportunity is for Product Engineers who want to redesign how large companies operate in the age of AI—not in theory or slide decks, but in production systems used by some of the biggest organisations in the world.

This is early-stage work. There’s no well-defined path here. Your time will be spent in:

  • Ambiguity and unstructured problems
  • Deep customer conversations to uncover real pain points
  • End-to-end system building—from concept to deployed fix

Your work will vary:

  • Some weeks will involve deep backend work, shaping system behaviour from first principles
  • Other weeks will focus on shipping product-facing features across the stack
  • Often you’ll pause to question whether the system’s approach to the problem is the right one in the first place

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Developed in-house side projects—curiosity matters more than experience
  • Possess a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals
  • Have product intuition and an urge to understand why systems fail the way they do

Technical Context

While there’s no ‘required’ tech stack, you’ll work across:

  • A modern frontend stack
  • A JVM-based backend
  • Infrastructure designed for reliability, orchestration, and scalable LLM behaviour
