Senior Product Engineer

Principal Engineer (Greenfield Fintech Architecture)

A fallen at the first hurdle engineer with a focus on high-level problem-solving and end-to-end system ownership.

This is the first core internal technology hire—real ownership, real responsibility, not a glorified job title.

You’ll report directly to the CEO of a regulated investment platform with a live product, paying customers and real money in transit, while building a greenfield product alongside the existing management.

Mission

Refactor and re-architect the entire tech stack of a product acquired from a venture studio partner for multi-partner scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own architecture, environments, and deployment pipelines during the transition and beyond.
  • Deliver end-to-end development across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and operational systems.
  • Integrate critical fintech components: KYC/AML, wallet screening, payments, and messaging providers.
  • Work with TypeScript, React, Next.js, AWS, Node/NestJS, and PostgreSQL, augmented with AI dev tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
