Senior Product Manager
Senior Product Manager – AI and Discovery
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days in-office)
We are collaborating with a London-based consumer technology company undergoing a major digital transformation, significantly expanding its AI and personalisation capabilities. They seek a Senior Product Manager to lead the Discovery experience, balancing human touch with scalable AI-driven personalisation—ensuring the service remains warm and intuitive while leveraging automation thoughtfully.
This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity. The business serves a large, highly engaged membership base across diverse lifestyle verticals. The key is correctly balancing AI with human engagement—ensuring members feel understood and catered to without sacrificing warmth. This is the core of the role.
You’ll own the vision, collaborate cross-functionally, and have free rein to shape strategy and drive impact from day one. Work spans:
- Data Science, Engineering, and Design teams
- A distributed global organisation
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the following pillars of the Discovery and AI ecosystem:
- Strategic Ownership
- Define the vision and roadmap for search, discovery, and AI-powered personalisation across the entire platform
- Shape how AI enhances the user experience without compromising its personalised, human-centric feel

Technical Leadership
- Lead ML-driven recommendation engines, dynamic content feeds, and ranking algorithms to deliver the right content to the right member at the right time
- Develop and refine automation workflows for high-volume interactions while preserving the service’s human touch
- Manage merchandising tools for curated collections, campaigns, and promotional partnerships

Data & Experimentation
- Drive discovery metrics and experimental validation to continuously enhance findability, engagement, and relevance
- Leverage A/B testing and analytics to inform product strategy

Team & Collaboration
- Mentor junior Product Managers
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across engineering, design, and data teams globally
- Align stakeholder expectations while aligning with business growth goals
Essential Requirements
- Experience
- 5+ years in Product Management, with a focus on search, personalisation, or AI-driven product experiences
- Proven track record of building hybrid products where human experience coexists with automation—with a deep understanding of when to humanise, when to automate
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, structuring strategy, and prioritising amidst rapid change

Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong foundation in data science concepts, machine learning, and experimental design
- Ability to lend analytical rigor while translating insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Soft Skills
- Exceptional communicator, capable of influencing senior leadership and bridging technical/non-technical gaps
- Collaborative mindset with experience mentoring peers and scaling cross-functional efforts

Location & Flexibility
- Tokyo-based (or open to remote where applicable)
- Willing to embrace hybrid working with a structured in-office presence (2 days/week where practicable)
