JOB TITLE: Senior Product Manager - Credit Cards (Engagement & Retention)

Salary: £78,098 - £91,880

LOCATION: Chester, Cardiff or Manchester

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you'll be doing

How do you keep millions of customers engaged with their credit card while delivering great customer outcomes and strong commercial performance? As Senior Product Manager, Cards Engagement & Retention, you'll lead a team of Product Managers and Product Strategy Analysts responsible for driving customer engagement, retention and commercial performance across our credit card portfolio. You'll use customer insight, behavioural analytics and market trends to shape propositions, lifecycle strategies and customer journeys that help customers get more value from their cards while delivering sustainable growth for the business.

Working at the intersection of product, customer strategy, data and commercial performance, you'll identify opportunities to improve engagement, increase usage and reduce attrition. You'll lead the development of targeted customer propositions and multi-channel engagement programmes, whilst coaching and developing your team to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional customer outcomes.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Marketing, Digital, Data, Technology, Operations and Risk to bring new ideas to life, leading complex strategic initiatives that improve customer experience and support the future growth of our cards business. You'll also play a key role in shaping team priorities, building capability and creating a high-performing environment where Product Managers and Product Strategy Analysts can thrive.

This is a highly visible leadership role with significant stakeholder exposure, giving you the opportunity to influence senior decision-makers, shape strategic priorities and make a tangible impact across one of the UK's largest credit card portfolios.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years' experience in Product Management within Cards, Payments, Lending, Banking or another complex regulated industry.
  • 5+ years' experience developing and delivering customer engagement, retention or lifecycle strategies that drive measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong experience using customer, behavioural and portfolio data to identify opportunities, shape propositions and influence strategic decision making.
  • Proven experience leading large cross-functional initiatives across Product, Marketing, Digital, Technology, Operations and Risk functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing customer or product performance against growth, engagement, retention or profitability objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience presenting recommendations to senior leaders.

  • Experience working in credit cards, consumer lending, payments or retail banking.
  • Experience with customer journey design, marketing technology or digital engagement platforms.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing colleagues within a product, portfolio or customer strategy environment.
  • Knowledge of credit card marketing principles, sponsorship programmes or card network activity.
