Do you want to work with the 15th fastest-growing startup in Europe? If so, you’re in the right place.

AssetCool is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startups, building the fastest path to more power on the grid.

We’re tackling one of the most urgent challenges in the global energy transition: grid congestion. Electricity demand is rising fast; driven by electrification, AI and data centres. While traditional grid upgrades take years, demand exists today. The grid isn’t ready.

AssetCool delivers robotic grid upgrades that physically increase the capacity of existing transmission lines by up to 30%, without rebuilding infrastructure. Using advanced robotics and proprietary photonic coatings, we unlock data-centre-scale capacity in weeks to months, not years and at a fraction of the cost and disruption of conventional approaches.

Our technology goes beyond capacity. We reduce losses, prevent corrosion, cut corona noise and generate high-value operational data that supports smarter grid operation and maintenance. Our systems are already deployed globally, and we just raised a big funding round from leading energy and climate investors.

AssetCool is one of the most innovation-driven companies in the UK energy sector and we’re scaling fast! If you’re ambitious, mission-driven and excited to work on real deployments that strengthen the industry that really matters, AssetCool is where you can make it happen.

Role Overview

AssetCool has built genuinely groundbreaking technology across robotics and photonic coatings. This has been delivered by being one of the most product-focused companies possible.

In delivering robotic grid upgrades, there is an extensive product portfolio that spans coating application, fluid delivery, perception payloads, robotics, UAVs, software engineering and AI.

We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Senior Product Manager to coordinate our product strategy and help us deliver at a larger scale whilst expanding the product portfolio.

This is a role for someone with a strong, clear point of view who isn’t afraid to make the call when engineering and commercial teams disagree on what to build next. You’ll work with Engineering leadership and the CEO to define the product priorities, manage the product requirements, maintain detailed product requirements specifications, product roadmaps aligned with commercial deliverables, make the trade-offs between speed, reliability and cost explicit. Essentially you will keep everyone pointed at the same goal: getting our products out of the lab and into customers’ hands.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You’ll own the product roadmap, requirements and prioritisation across our product range, not the detailed engineering design of any one product - our engineering and R&D teams own that. Your job is to make sure the right things get built in the right order, that everyone knows why, and that we keep moving at pace as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap across our robotics, fluidics, UAVs, software and AI development lines, and set clear priorities for what gets built next and why.
  • Manage the requirements, to ensure engineering R&D are tracking towards completion of these requirements, and they are maximally up to date.
  • Lead the move from prototype to commercially scalable product, working closely with engineering to balance speed, reliability and cost.
  • Balance competing priorities and resourcing needs between engineering and commercial teams, making clear calls on trade-offs so the business keeps moving forward.
  • Work directly with engineering leads to turn prototypes into well-defined, buildable product requirements, and push back where scope or timelines aren’t realistic.
  • Work with commercial and sales teams to understand what customers actually need, and feed that straight into product decisions.
  • Work with the CEO to regularly iterate on the product strategy in response to the fast-moving developments.
  • Set out what “ready to scale” actually means for each product – the specific bar it needs to clear on performance, reliability and cost before we commit to bigger volumes.
  • Report progress, risks and trade-offs clearly to the CEO and leadership team, including where products are behind schedule and why.
  • Build the early versions of product processes we don’t yet have – for example, how we gather customer feedback, prioritise the roadmap, or sign off a product as ready to ship.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4–6 years’ experience as a Product Manager, preferably in robotics but also on hardware or hardware-adjacent products, with a track record of taking something from prototype through to a product that ships at volume.
  • Technically credible enough to hold your own in a detailed conversation with engineering leads, even if you’re not an engineer yourself.
  • A strong, decisive character who is comfortable owning a call and standing by it, even under pressure from multiple directions.
  • Proven ability to manage competing demands on engineering time and resources, prioritising in a way that keeps teams aligned and working well together.
  • Comfortable talking to customers and commercial teams directly, and translating what you hear into product decisions.
  • Clear, plain-speaking communicator, able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical people and commercial trade-offs to engineers.
  • Comfortable owning a roadmap across more than one product line at the same time.

  • A background in engineering, manufacturing or a technical discipline, even if your career has since moved into product management.
  • Experience taking a product through certification, safety testing, or other regulatory steps on the way to market.
  • Experience at a startup of a similar size and stage, where you’ve had to build product processes from scratch rather than inherit them.
  • Experience managing products that combine hardware with software or data, rather than either in isolation.

Why Join AssetCool?

  • Work on groundbreaking technology revolutionizing the power grid.
