- Patchwork Insights – Provides managers with comprehensive data oversight to monitor staffing trends, shift fill rates, and pay rate escalations for reliable planning.

The Role
Patchwork’s Product Team resides within the Technology business area. The team is made up of Product Managers and Product Designers, each with distinct yet complementary responsibilities:
- Product Managers create and execute on informed, disruptive, and strategic product roadmaps that bring value to customers and the business.
- Product Designers translate complex, often manual industry processes into intuitive, smart, and usable experiences across Patchwork’s product suite.
Together, the Product Team works as one to drive innovation, expand value propositions, and shape quality and expertise across existing and new markets.
This role allows autonomy to tackle the most impactful problems that create a positive difference in the lives of NHS staff.
This position is for a Senior Product Manager, who will:
- Embed design strategies and provide technical design leadership to the Product Team.
- Work closely with Product Designers to refine and enhance product experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Provide subtle leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Product Team, helping shape product strategies and solutions.
- Share best practices and emerging ideas to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate exemplary agile processes, including:
- Gathering requirements effectively.
- Managing an efficient sprint backlog.
- Writing clear, actionable user stories.
- Leading agile squad refinement sessions.

- Exhibit leadership by informing, facilitating, and influencing without direct authority, across technical squads and cross-functional stakeholders.
Product Management
- Define a strategic roadmap for your product area through multidisciplinary discovery and continuous performance tracking.
- Own product outcomes by driving roadmaps, backlogs, and cross-functional collaboration—particularly with Client Operations.
- Lead go-to-market (GTM) and rollout activities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align on timelines, messaging, and execution.
- Liaise with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure successful deployment.
Analytics & Insights
- Analyse and synthesise data (user feedback, product analytics, sales pipeline, market intelligence) to guide product decisions.
- Apply qualitative and quantitative insights, internal discussions, and external research to:
- Prioritise and refine the backlog.
- Measure and address stakeholder gaps.
- Track product metrics and success KPIs for each target segment and market to assess impact and iterate.
Collaboration
Stakeholder Management
- Engage and lead in client meetings, fostering strong external relationships.
- Master cross-departmental collaboration by:
- Gathering requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Translating complex concepts clearly—bridging gaps between Product, Technology, and Operations.
Cross-Functional Synergy

Work cohesively with the Technology team to build trust in tech squads and define product visions.

Partner with Revenue teams to:
- Support sales strategies.
- Educate stakeholders on product features, roadmaps, and capabilities.

Maintain open communication with sales, design, and product squads to ensure seamless delivery.
Documentation

Maintain organisational documentation, including:
- 1-pagers and product requirement documents.
- Internal wikis to clarify workflows, standards, and decision logic.

Promote learning and transparency within the team by:
- Strong internal documentation.
- Open discussions about challenges, successes, and lessons learned.

Requirements
Essential
- Demonstrable experience working in Product Management within an agile environment, particularly in SaaS products.
- Strong track record in:
- Building, communicating, and executing strategic product roadmaps.
- Delivering measurable value across a wide range of customer segments.
- Ability to:
- Translate complex details into simple explanations for both technical and non-technical teams.
- Seek feedback throughout processes to refine decisions.
- Passionate about disruption and collaborative problem-solving.
- Openness to:
- Adding clarity through constructive debate.
- Cultural and technological adaptation.
- Core principles:
- Commitment to team success over individual recognition.
- Quality-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

Nice to Have
- Experience launching completely new-to-market products.
- Background in a tech start-up or high-growth scale-up.
- Familiarity with:
- The NHS, healthcare, or healthtech industry.
- Workforce management technologies.
- Certifications in related fields, such as Computer Science or Product/Digital Design.
