Reporting to the Product Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of RuneScape, balancing player experience with commercial success to deliver sustainable growth for the game.
Working closely with Design, Production, Analytics, Marketing, Engineering, Community Management, and Leadership, you'll define product strategy, identify opportunities through data and player insights, and lead initiatives that improve engagement, retention, monetisation, and player satisfaction.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strategic thinking, analytical rigour, and a deep understanding of live-service games and player behaviour.
What you'll be doing:
- Own and evolve key areas of RuneScape's product strategy, aligning player value with business objectives to deliver sustainable growth for the game.
- Define product goals, KPIs, and success metrics for major initiatives and content releases, giving every project a clear measure of success.
- Identify growth opportunities through player research, behavioural analytics, experimentation, and market analysis, turning insight into a roadmap that matters.
- Build business cases for new features and improvements, including microtransaction and monetisation initiatives, helping prioritise the roadmap based on impact, effort, and strategic value.
- Drive experimentation through A/B testing and hypothesis-led development, validating ideas before they scale.
- Monitor the health of the game across acquisition, engagement, retention, monetisation, and player sentiment, translating complex data into recommendations development teams can act on.
- Champion player-first decision making while ensuring commercial sustainability, balancing what players want with what the business needs.
- Work closely with Design, Production, Analytics, Marketing, and Community Management to bring player feedback and cross-functional insight into every decision.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
