Senior Product Owner
Senior Product Owner for Automation of Operational Controls & Processes
We are establishing a capability to automate operational controls and processes across multiple business lines. The Senior Product Owner will lead the product and delivery lifecycle, ensuring the automation backlog is aligned to business value, well-prioritised, and effectively delivered through close collaboration between stakeholders and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Operations Excellence initiatives and automation product backlog, ensuring clear prioritisation based on business value, risk, and efficiency gains.
- Engage with stakeholders across business lines to understand needs, socialise solutions, and align on priorities.
- Identify, map, and refine business processes to uncover automation opportunities and optimise operations workflows.
- Prioritise the work plan to ensure momentum is kept throughout the life of the project.
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and automation engineers.
- Define requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for automation initiatives.
- Drive delivery through SDLC processes, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Oversee governance, ensuring solutions align with control frameworks and organisational standards.
- Facilitate updates to LCH LTD COO and Head of Operations.
- Facilitate reporting to Board-level and Executive Committees.
- Manage project delivery aspects including:
- Milestones
- Timelines
- Dependencies
- Risks & Issues
- Coordinate across portfolio boards, resource forums, and governance bodies.
- Track and report on:
- Progress
- Benefits realisation
- Delivery risks

Skills & Experience
Required
-
Strong experience (10+ years) as a Product Owner or similar role in technology or transformation programmes.

Proven ability to manage and prioritise complex backlogs across multiple stakeholders.

Experience working with engineering teams delivering automation or platform-based solutions.

Strong understanding of:
- Business process analysis
- Optimisation

Strong data analysis skills.

Familiarity with:
- SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
- Agile delivery
- Governance frameworks

Excellent:
- Stakeholder management skills
- Communication skills

Ability to effectively bridge technical and business domains.
Nice to Have

Experience in financial services, particularly:
- Post-trade
- Clearing solutions

Exposure to automation technologies such as:
- AWS
- APIs
- Orchestration tools (e.g., Control-M)

Background in control, risk, or regulatory environments.

Experience in large-scale transformation or automation programmes.

Exposure to analytical technologies including:
- AI tools
- Python libraries
- SQL
- PowerBI

Experience with project tracking toolsets, including:
- Jira
- Confluence
