Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role Scope

Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Product, the Senior Product Owner owns the Browse vertical end-to-end—from customer problem to measurable outcome—while raising the standard of Product Ownership across the wider Customer and eCommerce department.

You will bring rigour, consistency, and a strong commercial lens as we transition away from project-based, waterfall delivery. Working alongside Agile Delivery Leads, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders, you will define product strategy, validate hypotheses, and model what "great" looks like while line managing and mentoring junior-to-mid POs.

Role key responsibilities:

Product Vision & Commercial Awareness

  • Define a compelling, evidence-based vision and roadmap for the Browse product vertical, aligned with wider commercial goals.
  • Make senior-level trade-off calls, balancing tactical fixes against high-impact strategic bets.
  • Connect vertical performance metrics and KPIs to the overall commercial North Star.

Coaching, Mentoring & Capability Building

  • Line manage, coach, and support junior and mid-level Product Owners to maximise their potential.
  • Help establish and sustain a Product Owner Community of Practice, sharing tools, templates, and playbooks to build consistent team capability.
  • Role model Product Operating Model behaviours (outcome over output, hypothesis-led delivery, and customer-centricity).

Discovery & Execution

  • Use robust discovery toolkits, quantitative/qualitative data, and A/B testing to validate assumptions and reduce delivery risk.
  • Run backlog refinement, define clear requirements, and ensure items meet the Definition of Ready (DoR).
  • Define and embed lightweight, fit-for-purpose governance, agile ceremonies, and quality standards suited to a maturing agile environment.

Stakeholder Management & Influencing

  • Articulate product vision with clarity and conviction to build trust up to senior leadership level.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with third-party partners (e.g., Search & Discovery or PxM tools) to strengthen our customer proposition.
  • Protect team focus and product integrity against scope creep and competing business demands.

About you

What we’re looking for

  • Product Operating Model Experience: Proven experience operating within a modern Product Operating Model, with hands-on experience navigating or leading a transition from waterfall/project delivery being a major advantage.
  • Digital & eCommerce Context: Strong understanding of digital business metrics and user journeys, ideally within an eCommerce environment.
  • People Leadership & Coaching: Direct line management or mentoring experience, with a passion for uplifting skills in discovery, backlog hygiene, and storytelling across a team.
  • Data-Informed & Discovery Focused: Fluency with user behaviour data, commercial performance data, and hypothesis testing (A/B testing, user research) to make decisions at pace.
  • Stakeholder & Change Management: Exceptional communication skills with the resilience, empathy, and diplomacy needed to take stakeholders on the agile transition journey

Why Join MandM?

  • Thrive in a highly empowered product operating model where you have genuine ownership over one of our most critical customer verticals.
  • Help shape the strategic future of MandM’s digital experience while mentoring a collaborative, growing team.
