Are you a highly organised, detail-focused production professional with a passion for great children’s books? We’re seeking an available Senior Production Controller or a Production Controller level professional to join a lovely children’s publisher to support the production team on a short-term contract starting in August. This is a hybrid working role, and our client is happy to have someone working a 4- or 5-day week.

About the role

You’ll take responsibility for titles across the production pipeline, supporting delivery through, backlist and frontlist, ensuring timely commercial delivery of a range of award-winning children’s titles, all while maintaining the highest production standards.

This is a hands-on role that requires a significant level of autonomy, working closely with colleagues across the business and with the company’s global supplier base. You’ll coordinate effectively, keep projects moving, and help ensure all production requirements are met to schedule and specification.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
