Senior Production Program Manager - E-7

Company: The Boeing Company

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Production Program Manager (Level M) for a 12–18 month International Temporary Assignment (ITA) to the United Kingdom, where you will lead the production build of two US Air Force E-7 rapid prototype aircraft—a groundbreaking platform poised to redefine surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

This high-visibility role requires a dynamic leader with expertise in manufacturing, program management, and the ability to guide a global Boeing team through a critical production effort whilst collaborating with senior leadership and key customers.

You will report directly to the E-7 Production Program Management Director and play a pivotal role in integrating capabilities for the warfighter.

About the Role

  • Base Location: Oklahoma City, OK (US) as a Long-Term Assignment to Birmingham, UK (12–18 months)
  • Relocation/Assignment Benefits: Provided
  • Employment Requirements:
    • Willingness to work 100% onsite at the assigned location
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for Secret Security Clearance)
    • Requires the ability to obtain an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start
    • English and performance/behavioral interviews may be required
    • candidates will be requested to submit a Custer Clearance Form (DD Form 2827) if not disclosed previously

Branch of Service Requirements:

  • Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Active Duty, Reserve or Was Reserves

Mission: You will lead the production program for the E-7 project, ensuring timeliness, quality, and conformity to stakeholder expectations whilst aligning with USAF priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Lead and manage the USAF E-7 modification effort, ensuring alignment with:
    • Performance goals
    • Cost and schedule targets
    • Program efficiency

Customer Engagement

  • Support executive-level customer engagements, providing updates on:
    • Program status
    • Risk and opportunity management
    • Corrective actions plan (capital-ex) when required

Performance and Risk Management

  • Proactively identify and manage:
    • Key operational risks
    • Programmatic risks
    • Cultural barriers
    • Revenue opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as senior authority for:
    • Boeing Defense UK, Boeing Defense Australia (BDUK), Boeing Defense Systems (BDA)
    • A third-party supplier responsible for modifications
  • Ensure cohesive program execution across:
    • Programs, services, supply chains, engineering support, and quality provisions

PositionEligibility

  • Ability to relocate to the United Kingdom (12-18 months)
  • Eligible to work in a multinational environment with compliance to UK Visa and Work Permit requirements
  • Able to manage and adapt to cultural differences within a diverse workforce

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 5% travel within the US and UK for meetings and assessments

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required)

✔ 5+ years of experience in one or more of:

  • Program leadership (Team Leader)
  • Large-scale project/program management
  • Cross-functional project/program management
  • Large-scale project/program manager experience

✔ 1+ year of experience as an internal or external customer-facing role

✔ Experience working within a fast-paced team environment, requiring:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaboration with program leadership
  • Interaction with internal and external customer representatives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired, but not mandatory)

🔹 Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, technology, business administration, or related field 🔹 Experience in complex production or agile environments
