Senior Technical Support Technician

Location: Kensington, London

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £39,813–£45,500 per year

Application deadline: 12:00 PM on 2 July 2026

Industry: Live Events, Production and Technical Operations

Overview

Our client, a leading London-based cultural and live events venue, is seeking a proactive and highly organised Senior Technical Support Technician to help maintain, develop and safeguard its technical equipment, workshops and storage areas.

Working within the Production and Technical department, you will take a leading role in ensuring that equipment is safe, reliable, compliant and ready to support a varied programme of live events. You will coordinate servicing and inspections, maintain accurate asset records and help ensure that technical workspaces remain clean, secure and well organised.

This role combines technical maintenance, operational coordination and health and safety responsibilities. You will work closely with colleagues across lighting, audio, rigging, staging and administration, while also building strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.

It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who is ready to take on greater ownership within a high-profile live events environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take day-to-day ownership of technical equipment maintenance, servicing and inspection schedules.
  • Ensure technical equipment is safe, reliable, compliant and ready for operational use.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers, servicing records and equipment documentation.
  • Coordinate repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance with internal teams, suppliers and contractors.
  • Keep workshop and storage areas safe, clean, secure and well organised.
  • Monitor equipment condition and identify maintenance, replacement or investment requirements.
  • Maintain an active technical presence during planned maintenance periods, inspections and other key onsite activity.
  • Support complex event load-ins and load-outs where required.
  • Work collaboratively with lighting, audio, rigging, staging and administrative teams.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Lead or support technical servicing periods and ensure actions are completed to the required standard.
  • Respond promptly to equipment faults, repairs and operational issues.
  • Build effective working relationships with external suppliers, service providers and contractors.
  • Promote high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and operational discipline.
  • Support the wider Production and Technical team in delivering a professional and dependable service to visiting artists, promoters and event partners.
  • Identify and implement practical improvements to equipment management, storage and workshop processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
