In this role you will provide proactive, high-quality pastoral and academic progress support to students, and create a positive and supportive student experience in their time at BPP

What you’ll be doing
In this role you will use data to monitor engagement and academic progress, and take a proactive, early-intervention approach to support a student’s academic progress. You’ll be responsible for ensuring students are connected directed quickly to appropriate specialist services and ultimately supporting progression through their programme of study.
As such, you will be responsible for:
- Building and maintaining supportive, professional relationships with students, providing clear guidance on navigating their studies.
- Accurate written and contemporaneous recording of student interactions, meetings and communications.
- Proactively reviewing student attendance, engagement and academic progress data to identify students who are at risk of disengagement.
- Managing the full pastoral relationship with your allocated students, providing guidance and signposting on wellbeing, personal challenges and study-related concerns within the limits of the role.
- Identifying when a student needs support beyond the scope of the role including specialist counselling, learning support services or safeguarding concerns.
- Providing clear and accurate information and guidance to students on programme processes including assessments, appeals and progression.
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure a consistent and positive student experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of pastoral provision.

What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement
- Confidence using digital platforms: Power BI, Teams, Excel, Online forms, Outlook
- Strong interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage a caseload
- Knowledge of student support structures and academic processes
- Ability to evaluate risk, exercise professional judgement, identify the correct referral point and respond in a timely manner
- A positive student-centred approach with focus on the student experience

How will this process work?
The interview process for this position will consist of the following stages:
- Competency style interview with two team members – 60 minutes
