Senior Consultant – Programme & Change Acceleration at Capgemini Invent

We are made up of three capability teams, including Programme & Change Acceleration (‘P&CA’) — the focus of this role. P&CA houses Capgemini Invent’s transformation programme delivery and change experts.


About the Role

As a Senior Consultant in the Programme and Change Acceleration team, you will lead and support the delivery of complex business transformation and change initiatives across multiple sectors, applying programme expertise to help clients achieve successful, sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership & Team Development
  • Independently lead the execution of workstreams on client delivery.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering capability development and team growth.
  • Demonstrate key principles of people development through coaching and management.
Transformation & Governance Support
  • Support business transformation initiatives by championing use of:
    • P3M (Portfolio, Programme, Project Management) methodologies
    • Tools
    • Processes
  • Contribute to P&CA thought leadership advancement.
  • Help embed:
    • Governance
    • Controls
    • Reporting
  • Enable effective oversight and standardisation at all levels of transformation initiatives.
Internal Skills & Talent Development
  • Develop internal training pathways to strengthen P&CA capability.
  • Coach junior members of the team.
  • Support certifications or learning initiatives for yourself and colleagues.
Commercial Growth & Innovation
  • Apply a commercial mindset to identify new opportunities.
  • Assist in shaping P&CA service offerings.
  • Proactively contribute to client success and competitive advantage.

Opportunities for Personal & Team Growth

Your role will provide opportunities in:

Business Development

  • Lead/contribute to proposals, RFPs, bids, and proposition development.
  • Participate in client pitch contributions.
  • Host clients at events during team activities.

Internal Contribution

  • Develop campaigns, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, and practice development initiatives including:
    • Operating practices
    • Recruitment
    • Team events and activities
    • Service offering development.

Learning & Development

  • Access onboarding and certification training to support career progression.
  • Develop skills aligned with company-wide demand.

Required Profile

  • Proven track record:
    • Delivering complex transformation initiatives across multiple industries.
    • Expertise in programme management, governance, stakeholder, and risk management.
  • Client engagement experience:
    • Managing workstreams or small projects on client engagements.
    • Leading high-performing teams with effective task delegation to direct reports.
  • Methodology expertise:
    • Experience with multiple P3M methodologies and approaches
  • Commercial acumen:
    • Strong awareness of identifying new sales opportunities.
    • Proficient in budget management.
  • People leadership:
    • Proven experience in coaching and managing others.

Desirable Skills & Experiences

Please note any of the following will enhance your fit for this role:

  • Relevant P3M qualifications:
    • MSP, MoP, and/or P3O from Axelos.
    • PMQ, PPQ, and/or ChPP from APM.
    • PMP and/or PgMP from PMI.
    • PRINCE2 Practitioner or Agile-equivalent certifications.
  • Portfolio management experience:
    • Planning, governance, and reporting.
  • UK Public Sector knowledge:
    • Understanding of government governance frameworks, delivery environments, and stakeholder landscapes.
  • Organisation adaptability:
    • Proven ability to thrive in matrixed organisations.
    • Experience in selling and delivering consulting solutions across peer groups by enlisting support.
  • Industry background:
    • Currently working in a major consulting firm or industry with previous consulting experience.
    • Experience with proposition building and delivery.
  • Security clearance:
    • Hold UK Security Check (SC) status or be willing and eligible to obtain within 6 months.

Assigned Location & Travel Expectations

Work bases will be in London, Manchester, or Glasgow. However, assignments may also require:

  • Extended time away from home base, including short-notice travel.
