The Role: Senior Programme Manager

Location: Based from our Finham (Coventry) or Tamworth office

Key Responsibilities: The Senior Programme Manager will lead an integrated team responsible for delivering portfolios and programmes under Severn Trent’s Capital Investment Programme. Your focus will be on:

  • Leading a team of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of assigned projects.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders (both internal and external) to start, drive, and champion complex projects.
  • Continuously challenging and innovating to enhance performance and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Providing robust leadership for the design, procurement, and construction of multi-project portfolios.
  • Nurturing team development, fostering talent growth, and ensuring team success.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience

You must have:

  • A proven track record of leading large, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects, including experience with high-risk, high-value work.
  • Extensive experience managing diverse stakeholders (from internal teams to board-level partners) to achieve programme objectives.
  • Strong expertise in managing hybrid programme teams combining internal and external resources.
  • Deep experience working closely with supply chains to deliver technically advanced, high-complexity solutions.
  • A track record of building high-performing teams, combined with leadership in driving financial and operational success.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, particularly with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • A relentless drive for continuous improvement, the ability to anticipate challenges, and a proactive, innovative mindset.
