Location: Colchester

Salary: GBP 45,480

An established and highly regarded architectural practice is looking to appoint a Senior Project Architect to join its expanding Colchester studio. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accomplished Architect with strong technical expertise and project management experience to play a key role in delivering a varied portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will take ownership of schemes from initial concept through to completion, liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors while helping to develop junior members of the team and contributing to the ongoing growth of the practice.

The Senior Project Architect Role Will Include

  • Managing projects across all RIBA work stages
  • Producing detailed technical drawings and construction packages using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Preparing planning applications, Building Regulations submissions, and technical documentation
  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams
  • Overseeing project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Carrying out site inspections and monitoring project delivery
  • Ensuring projects comply with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Creating high-quality presentations using SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues
  • Maintaining exceptional technical and design quality throughout each project

The Ideal Senior Project Architect Will Have

  • ARB registration (RIBA membership is advantageous)
  • Extensive post-Part III experience within the UK
  • A strong track record of successfully delivering projects from concept to completion
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK construction methods and Building Regulations
  • Experience preparing planning applications and comprehensive technical packages
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines
  • A motivated, organised, and confident leadership style
