National Trust wants everyone to have great access to nature, beauty, and history. The Access & Urban Team are developing new ways to end unequal access to nature in cities and towns, working in partnership with others, as part of our strategy People and Nature Thriving.
National Trust’s Sky Gardening Challenge is a national campaign, support package, and competition, which aims to address unequal access to nature, and inspire people to connect to nature, by encouraging people in flats to create ‘sky gardens’, connect with other sky gardeners, and share their stories.

We are excited to offer the opportunity of a Senior Project Coordinator role to support the delivery of National Trust’s Sky Gardening Challenge in 2027 and 2028.

What it's like to work here
You’ll be part of the Access & Urban Team: a national team leading on ending unequal access to nature.
As one of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll be working in a matrix way with internal specialists, regional project teams, external partners, and contractors to make great things happen.
Your contractual place of work will be Heelis, but we will consider applications to work from any of our offices. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Project Coordinator, you’ll support the delivery and ongoing development of the National Trust’s Sky Gardening Challenge in 2027 and 2028. You’ll help coordinate the programme and its governance, including maintaining project documentation, tracking risks and finances, and contributing to reporting for boards and funders. You’ll work closely with teams and stakeholders, supporting the national project team and regional community of practice, and helping to build strong collaboration across partners.

You’ll also support the delivery of participant engagement and resources, including handling enquiries, managing sign-up systems, supporting communications, and helping to develop core materials such as handbooks and tutorials. Alongside this, you’ll assist with delivery and implementation, including rolling out national guidance, supporting regional teams, and helping to deliver the competition, while ensuring compliance with data protection, competition law, and health and safety requirements. Finally, you’ll contribute to monitoring performance, commissioning evaluation, and embedding continuous improvement to support the ongoing development of the Sky Gardening Challenge as an urban initiative.

Who we're looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you’re:
- practically experienced in project management processes, administration and systems, including procurement, finance and reporting
- good at working with all kinds of people and organisations, able to build and sustain strong working relationships
- familiar with budgeting and able to collate, maintain, analyse and prepare data for reports
- used to conducting research or analysing evidence (including past findings, market research and understanding audiences) to support decisions
- comfortable with Microsoft packages, especially Excel, and other systems such as financial and visitor analytics
- skilled at multi-tasking, prioritising your workload and meeting targets through your thorough and detailed approach to work
- confident with managing diaries and organising practicalities for face-to-face meetings.
