At LanzaTech, we’re turning waste carbon into new beginnings. Using our proprietary bio-fermentation technology, we transform industrial emissions, carbon dioxide, and gasified waste into ethanol—a building block for a wide range of sustainable products, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and other critical chemical derivatives. With six commercial facilities already in operation and more on the way, we’re scaling fast to meet the world’s growing demand for fuels and materials. Our technology helps industrial sectors by unlocking value from emissions that would otherwise go to waste. Together with our partners, we’re building a circular carbon economy—where carbon is continuously reused, not released.
This role is offered as a fixed-term 12-month contract with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
